Embryogenic callus *is* an appropriate term when it truly consists of
callus that gives rise to embryos. A cluster of proembryos or
globular-stage embryos giving rise to additional embryos has been termed
proliferative embryos or repetitive embryos, among other things. I still
prefer 'embryogenic tissue'
